SK Agricultural Technic signed strategic cooperation agreement with Guizhou Phosphate Chemical Group
On the afternoon of May 20, the China (Guizhou) – Laos Economic, Trade, Cultural, and Tourism Cooperation Symposium, hosted by the Guizhou Provincial People’s Government, was held in Vientiane, Laos. During the signing ceremony, Tu Wensheng, General Manager of Guizhou Phosphate Chemical Group, and Soukkaseum Silimoungkhoun, Chairman of SK Agricultural Technic Co., Ltd., signed the “Vientiane Puyue Potash Project Cooperation Agreement” on behalf of their respective companies. The signing was witnessed by Li Bingjun, Governor of Guizhou Province, and other delegation leaders. Following the ceremony, Governor Li Bingjun had a cordial conversation with Chairman Soukkaseum Silimoungkhoun and wished the project great success.
SK Agricultural Technic Co., Ltd.’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Beijing Puyue Mining (Laos) Co., Ltd, holds 140 square kilometers of mining rights in the Vientiane Basin. The signed Puyue Phase I project, with an annual capacity of 3 million tons, involves resources from an extremely thick carnallite deposit. The mining area covers 28 square kilometers with a potassium chloride reserve of 420 million tons and an extractable reserve of over 150 million tons. At an annual production rate of 3 million tons, this can ensure a supply for 50 years.
This cooperation between Guizhou Phosphate Chemical Group and SK Agricultural Technic Co., Ltd. reflects the strong complementarity in the economic and industrial cooperation fields between China and Laos. Both parties will leverage the Belt and Road Initiative platform to utilize resource, technological, and quality advantages, turning the vision of zero pollution, zero subsidence, and protective development of Vientiane’s potash into reality. The project aims to become an environmentally friendly cooperation model, providing new growth momentum for Laos’ economy. Future plans include scaling up potash production to tens of millions of tons, ensuring China’s food security. Both parties are committed to sustaining China-Laos friendship, co-creating a path to prosperity, and contributing to the economic and social mutual benefits and the development of the China-Laos community with a shared future.
