On November 10, 2024, representatives from the State Development & Investment Corporation Mining Investment Co., Ltd. (SDIC Mining) and Italian-Thai Development PCL (ITD), along with technical experts, visited Ruiyuan Richfield mine site at Thongmang Village, Vientiane Capital, Laos.
The visit emphasized the advanced mining technologies and management practices employed by Ruiyuan Richfield. Delegates explored the construction areas, production workshops, and the complete production process, gaining valuable insights into the project’s smooth progress and trial production phase.
Located within the Khorat Basin, the geology of Ruiyuan Richfield’s potash reserves closely resembles the mining regions SDIC Mining and ITD are developing in Thailand. Delegates were particularly impressed with the company’s innovative vertical milling extraction technology. This approach not only ensures efficient mining but also addresses critical environmental concerns through complete tailings backfill, significantly reducing costs while maintaining ecological integrity.
Both SDIC Mining and ITD expressed strong interest in Ruiyuan Richfield’s cutting-edge solutions, noting their potential to address environmental and economic challenges in developing Thailand’s potash resources. Looking ahead, the parties plan to engage in regular technical exchanges to foster the green, safe, and efficient development of potash in Thailand. This collaboration will accelerate resource development across Southeast Asia and deepen trilateral ties between China, Laos, and Thailand, contributing to regional economic growth and sustainability.
